Meet Marquala Riley—a joyful, kind-hearted 21-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas, who’s thriving with the support of Easterseals Arkansas. Known for her love of lounging with her tablet and cozy blanket, diving into ASMR videos on YouTube, and spending time with her family, Marquala brings warmth and positivity wherever she goes.
From High School to a Place Called "School"
After finishing high school, Marquala’s parents were looking for a program where she could continue learning and developing life skills. That’s when they found Easterseals Arkansas. It didn’t take long for them to realize they had made the right choice.
“Easterseals has been a tremendous blessing in Marquala’s life,” her parents shared. “It takes a village, and Easterseals is a part of our village.”
For nearly three years, Marquala has been a part of the Adult Services program, where she receives guidance in daily living skills, participates in creative activities like art and crafts, and receives speech therapy—all in a safe, supportive environment.
A Place to Grow, Learn, and Shine
Though Marquala is non-verbal, she’s been making incredible strides. With the support of the Easterseals team, she recently began expressing herself more and even started greeting others with “Good Morning,” a milestone that has deeply touched her family and the staff alike.
“We are very thankful for the continued support and encouragement Marquala receives daily while she attends the program.”
At Easterseals, Marquala has also found a sense of community. She’s met new friends, gained confidence, and discovered joy in new routines. Whether it’s participating in cooking activities or learning a new skill, her days are filled with growth and connection.

When Marquala first joined, she was shy and often wanted to leave early. But thanks to the care and dedication of Ms. Shelley and the entire team, she now looks forward to each day.
