At Easterseals Arkansas, our mission comes to life through team members who show up every day with skill, heart, and a deep commitment to inclusion. This week, we are proud to spotlight Kanika J. Davis, the dedicated Employment & Business Engagement Manager for Easterseals’ HIRE program.
Dedicated To Bridging Gaps For Her Clients
With more than 15 years of experience in the career readiness field, Kanika was drawn to Easterseals by its reputation for protecting rights for those with I/DD in Arkansas. These are values she shares both personally and professionally:
Having both personal family experience and professional involvement in this field, I was drawn to Easterseals because of its passion, innovation, and strong commitment to protecting disability rights.
A Commitment To Advocation
Known for her ability to remove barriers to employment, Kanika forges strong partnerships with employers and community agencies.
She develops internal systems that support organizational growth and staff development, creating environments where both people and programs thrive. Her knack for bridging gaps between workforce needs and local talent drives sustainable employment outcomes across the region.
And, as a State Certified Job Coach in Arkansas, she expertly translates workforce policies into practical strategies that help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment and guide businesses in building inclusive, reliable teams.
Roots in Arkansas
Kanika holds a Bachelor’s in Agriculture Business from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from the University of Arkansas–Fayetteville.
A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Kanika’s journey has taken her to Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, and Texas. And finally back to her husband’s home state in Cabot, Arkansas, even if she might not love the warmer weather:
While I prefer climates that are colder, my Husband is an Arkansan in and out, so I am enduring this heat for love.
What Her Day Off Looks Like
Outside of work, Kanika’s greatest passion is helping others become the best version of themselves. She cherishes time spent with family, delving into research topics that expand her understanding, reading, and deepening her knowledge of scripture.
She also volunteers by providing workplace readiness education and has previously supported CASA, advocating for children in foster care.
When she’s not working or volunteering, Kanika can be found at church, visiting family, or playing with her beloved “shorty” American bully dogs. A fan of Pawn Stars and Storage Wars, she’s often on the hunt in thrift stores for her next DIY project.
And when we asked her what she can’t live without, she replied:
French fries, lol. But seriously, my need to help others. My family says, because of this need I never really meet a stranger.
A Legacy Of True Joy & Happiness
Kanika hopes to be remembered for the way she leads by example showing how to find the foundation of truth in all things. She expands:
Most importantly [the foundations of truth are] those that lead to true joy, happiness and life.
Her commitment to inclusive employment and heartfelt compassion continues to inspire everyone at Easterseals and beyond.
Thank you, Kanika!
Easterseals Arkansas is stronger because of leaders like Kanika J. Davis, people who combine expertise with compassion and who help create opportunities for everyone.
