Responding to Arkansas’ increasing demand for autism-related information and services, Easterseals Arkansas has announced its plans for the 2022 Race For Autism Awareness and Understanding campaign.
Spearheading this significant initiative is Aaron Likens, a recognized public speaker, author, and the NTT INDYCAR Series’ professional flagman, roped in as the central content creator and public representative.
Likens as the Autism Ambassador
Detailing the inception of his connection with Likens, Easterseals’ President & CEO Ron Ekstrand reflected on their first encounter at Easterseals Midwest. Ekstrand highlighted the poignant account of Likens’ personal experiences documented in ‘Finding Kansas’ following his Asperger’s syndrome diagnosis.
“Immediately upon meeting Aaron, it was clear that Aaron was not only a writer, but a very impactful public speaker with the ability to connect with his audiences through his combination of personal experiences, humor, and humility.” Ekstrand appreciated.
Since commencing his public speaking journey with Ekstrand, Likens has evolved into a respected presenter, resonating with diverse audience groups, including Easterseals affiliates, and even federal entities like the FBI.
Stepping into the role of Autism Ambassador for Easterseals Arkansas, Likens is set to chronicle his daily experiences in the NTT INDYCAR Series through a series of insightful blogs, offering a firsthand perspective of living with autism.
Bringing Stories to the Community Through Outreach Program
Easterseals Arkansas envisages extending Likens’ reach through an outreach program, facilitating his interaction with various audiences in Little Rock and beyond, and sharing his story both virtually and in person.
Jillian Jacuzzi, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Easterseals Arkansas, expressed her enthusiasm about the unique opportunities this collaboration harbors.
“With Aaron, we have the ability to work with individual public and private sector audiences to identify their specific areas of interest and set up to have Aaron present either virtually or in person,” Jillian stated.
