At Easterseals Arkansas, our staff members are more than employees—they are passionate advocates, dedicated professionals, and compassionate supporters of the individuals and families we serve. This month, we are thrilled to highlight Carrie Roberts Davis, a valued member of The Academy at Easterseals Arkansas. Carrie’s journey to Easterseals is deeply personal, and her commitment to helping families navigate the world of special needs education and support is truly inspiring.
A Personal Journey That Led to a Purpose
Carrie’s introduction to Easterseals Arkansas began with her daughter, Goldie, who was born at just 25 weeks and required specialized services from an early age. Through this experience, Carrie realized how overwhelming it can be for families to navigate the world of therapies, services, and education for children with special needs. She saw a gap that needed to be filled—someone to guide families through this complex process—and she knew she wanted to be that person for others.
With a background in marketing and experience as a legal assistant and restaurant manager, Carrie transitioned into her role at The Academy, bringing with her an unwavering dedication to supporting families. For the past year and a half, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that parents feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their child’s journey.
A Knack for Connection and Support
Carrie is known for her ability to make people feel comfortable and meet them where they are. Whether she’s communicating with families, assisting with paperwork and scholarships, or planning events that bring people together, she approaches her work with grace and understanding. Her colleagues even gifted her a badge reel that reads “emotional support coworker”—a testament to the trust and care she fosters within the team.
Recently, a student gave Carrie a heartfelt card that read, "You always know what to do when things are bad." That moment solidified what she already knew—being a source of stability and kindness for others is one of her greatest strengths.
