At Easterseals Arkansas, the heartbeat of our mission lies in the dedication of our incredible team members. This week, meet Cassandra "Cassie" Lee Ingram Montgomery, our Psychological Examiner at the Children's Rehabilitation Center. She is one of the many people who go above and beyond each day to help individuals with disabilities lead more independent and fulfilled lives.
A Passion for Care
Cassandra "Cassie" Lee Ingram Montgomery brings keen insight and warm empathy to her role as Psychological Examiner at Easterseals, where she describes working as her dream job. With a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southern Arkansas University and a master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas, Cassie's journey into Easterseals began through a meaningful connection. In 2018, a retiring mentor recommended her for a Psychology Consultant contract at the Butler Adult Living Center. Last spring, spotting a posted LCSW role that resonated deeply, she reached out to leadership and successfully transitioned into her current position:
"I consider this position at CRC my dream job."
Over the years, Cassie has honed her expertise, beginning in 2011 at the Conway Human Development Center, where she earned her provisional license. She also has experience monitoring behavioral concerns, developing Positive Behavior Support programs, and conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations. By 2013, she'd secured her full licensure and had since guided countless individuals toward healthier ways of meeting their needs.
Celebrating Life and Laughter
Known throughout the Children's Rehabilitation Center for her detective-style approach, Cassie tackles every challenge with observant, quick-witted problem-solving. Whether she's uncovering the roots of maladaptive behaviors or creating a safe, empathetic space for her clients, she's quick to lend support while collaborating with teachers, nurses, DSPs, and therapists:
“I am good at providing a safe and empathetic space for individuals who need to process any concerns.”
Her colleagues and clients alike rely on her for insight, compassion, and that ever-ready sense of humor that has become her signature. She's quick with a pun and always prepared to lighten the mood, proving that warmth and professionalism go hand in hand.
Life Beyond Work: Embracing Her Furry Family
Away from her desk, Cassie lives life surrounded by love. A Magnolia, Arkansas native who ventured to Conway for grad school and never looked back, you might find her curled up on the couch with her four feline companions, Mr. Norris, Winston, Todd, and Nadine, streaming a favorite show, and recharging for the week ahead.
Her love for animals extends far beyond her home. As a dedicated volunteer with CLAWS (Cats Lives Are Worth Saving), she coordinates fellow volunteers and keeps Petco's cat cubbies spick and span. Her passions paint a colorful portrait: rainbows, psychology, and most of all, caring for creatures great and small. An active leader in her field, she's served on the Arkansas Association of Master's in Psychology board for over a decade, holding roles as Secretary, President, and now Vice President.
A Legacy of Hope
Cassie hopes one day to continue making a difference through her compassionate approach to care. Above all, she wants to ensure her legacy at Easterseals:
“I want to be remembered as a compassionate listener who helped when and where I could.”
A testament to her dedication, her empathy, and the inspiring spirit she shares with everyone around her, Cassie is an inspiration to all at Easterseals.
Thank You, Cassie!
