This week, meet Mariah Carrion, Assistant Director of the Children’s Rehabilitation Center, and the Director of the Butler Adult Living Center. She is a dedicated member of our team, caring deeply about each individual she serves.
A Journey of Service
With a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and a Long-Term Care Administrator license, Mariah knew she needed work that would allow her to serve others with dignity, purpose, and compassion.
Mariah shared that a close friend told her about ICFs (Intermediate Care Facilities), and helped her realize that her license allowed her to lead and operate these types of facilities.
Having previously worked for another provider where ethical views didn't align, Mariah was searching for a place that matched her desire to serve others with compassion. But when she found Easterseals, she knew it was a true blessing.
"The mission, values, and commitment to the individuals we serve aligned perfectly with my heart and professional goals."
Since becoming licensed in March 2024, Mariah has fully embraced this career path with Easterseals Arkansas and intends to continue growing within the organization.
Leading with Compassion and Consistency
In her daily work, Mariah is known for deep care and a strong work ethic. She approaches every decision with a simple but powerful question:
If this were my family member or close friend, would I be happy with the care and services being provided?
This family-first mentality drives Mariah to ensure that every individual she works with at Easterseals Arkansas feels valued and special. Whether navigating complex administrative challenges or ensuring proper compliance, the goal is always the best possible outcome for those in her care.
Roots on the West Coast, Heart in Arkansas
Mariah has always loved the West Coast, but she has settled seamlessly into life in Arkansas.
“I’ve found myself settling in very well in Arkansas and building a life here that I’m proud of and truly love,” she noted.
When not ensuring continuity and care at work, you can usually find Mariah spending time with friends, exploring local restaurants, or attending church. She also enjoys relaxing at home or participating in volunteer activities that give back to the community.
A Legacy of Kindness and Growth
For Mariah, staying busy isn’t a burden; it’s a way of life. She even admits that stepping away from work would be the hardest thing to give up:
“As crazy as it sounds, staying busy is how I thrive and continue to grow and learn every day.”
She hopes most of all to be seen as staying true to herself and continuing to learn and grow every day; someone with a kind heart, figuring out life like everyone else.
