Meet Angela Hicks, Principal Accountant of the Easterseals Finance Department. Angela joined Easterseals in October 2001, bringing her extensive experience in accounting to the organization. She holds an accounting degree and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She attended the University of Missouri with her twin sister. Angela is known for her attention to detail and thorough documentation. She enjoys analyzing budgets and numbers as they tell their own stories.
Angela switched from public accounting because she wanted to be more involved in the day-to-day operations of a company with a great purpose rather than constantly looking at the past. Her colleagues would describe her as someone who ensures payroll is completed on time every two weeks and strives to make a difference by supporting those who do the hard work of direct service.
Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with her family and participating in church activities. Her husband is a pastor, and they live in a parsonage next door to the church. Angela loves to read, especially history, and she also enjoys cooking and baking bread and desserts.
Angela is passionate about her family and her faith. She feels blessed by the miracles in her life, including her husband, three children, home, and church. Witnessing people improve and learn inspires her.
Originally from Paragould, AR, Angela left for college and never returned because she loves where she is now and the family she built. She is actively involved in her community, supports her children as a football mom, and participates in American Heritage Girls.
Angela hopes to be remembered as someone who cared deeply about her family, church, and job, making a difference and helping others along the way. Despite her self-professed “boring accountant” persona, she surprises those who knew her growing up by enjoying being a football mom and even working out with her son.
