Meet Ki Scott, a dedicated and compassionate member of Easterseals' Waiver program. Ki's journey with Easterseals began in 2014 when she joined as a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP). She has since been promoted into her current role as a Regional Direct Support Manager (RDSM) of Waiver. This new role represents a significant step in her commitment to serving individuals with special needs.
Ki’s passion for supporting people with special needs is deeply rooted in her personal experiences. Growing up as the child of a deaf parent, she developed a profound empathy for individuals with special needs. Her early exposure to this community, combined with her work with teenagers diagnosed with Autism and her experience in early childhood education, has shaped her dedication to this field.
A Sylvan Hills High School graduate, Ki opted to gain practical experience rather than pursue a traditional college degree. She believes in learning through real-world experiences, which have equipped her with valuable skills in organization, problem-solving, and streamlining processes.
Professionally, Ki is known for her ability to put people at ease and handle stressful situations with grace. She excels at finding solutions and creating teachable moments, ensuring that every individual feels supported and valued. Her colleagues and the people she serves appreciate her unwavering commitment to making everyone feel they belong.
When she’s not working, Ki enjoys resting with a good movie or floating the river with friends. Her passion for making a difference extends beyond her professional life; she volunteers with her church’s music ministry team and is driven by her desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing love and support to others.
Ki’s extensive background includes awards and certifications in gymnastics, swimming, sports, music, color guard, academics, and a national certification as a para pro. She is also certified in instructing evasive maneuvers for handling behavioral outbursts.
Ki finds it impossible to give up swimming and her work with people with special needs. She hopes to be remembered for her deep love for God and her commitment to making others feel loved and supported. A fun fact about Ki is that people often confide their deepest secrets to her, even complete strangers, which she finds both intriguing and endearing.
Ki’s journey with Easterseals reflects her lifelong dedication to supporting and uplifting individuals with special needs. Her warm, empathetic nature makes her a cherished member of the team.
