Easterseals Arkansas is happy to bring its beloved Art & Soul back to an in-person event this year on Thursday, Nov. 11. The developmental disability service organization also is excited to host the event in the warehouse space of its Adult Center for Training & Wellness (CTW), where many of the featured art pieces are created.

Festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. at the CTW, 14901 Cantrell Road in Little Rock. Attendees must show proof of Covid-19 vaccination or show a Covid-19 negative test within 48 hours of the event date. Proof of vaccination is preferred, but we understand there are some exemptions and that is why proof of a negative test is required if the attendee is not vaccinated.

Art & Soul highlights artwork created through the A.R.T. Program. A.R.T. (Artistic Realization Technologies) provides hands-on creative expression for children and adults with limited use of their arms and hands. Artists work with “trackers” via a laser attached to a headpiece or other methods of communication to create unique paintings. Trackers are volunteers who become the hands and arms of the artists, taking directives from them to create the pieces as visualized by the artist. A.R.T. originally was developed by artist Tim Lefens in New Jersey.

Justin is this year’s featured artist. The 22-year-old is a Maumelle High School graduate and has been coming to the adult day center since 2019. In addition to painting, he loves everything sports, especially Razorbacks related. He looks forward to one day moving out from his parent’s house and living independently.

The silent auction will be online. During the event, a live auction will take place. Food will be provided by Taziki’s and a signature cocktail by Petit & Keet will be available in addition to other libations. For more information and updates, visit the event website: artandsoul.givesmart.com
