LITTLE ROCK, AR – In light of Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s directive to close schools in the area, and after reviewing recommendations by the CDC, the non-profit organization made the decision to close its two developmental preschools, The Academy at Riverdale, and Outpatient Therapy services. The closings will take effect Friday, March 13, and last through Friday, March 20. The Little Rock Developmental Preschool as well as the Grand Prairie Child Development Center in Stuttgart typically are open weekdays during the entire year. The Academy is the organization’s private school serving students ages 5-21.

This decision was not made lightly, but the health and safety of the children served by these programs is top priority. Easterseals Arkansas will continue to work closely with its health advisors and state officials to determine the best course of action moving forward as everyone monitors the progress of COVID-19.
