Easterseals Arkansas (ESA) welcomes Stacy Ferguson as the new Chief Administrative and Finance Officer, bringing with her a rich background in community service for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/DD). With over a decade of experience in the IDD/DD community services sector, she is no stranger to the mission and values of Easterseals.
Educational Background and Early Connections to Easterseals
Ferguson is well equipped for her new role, holding a business administration degree specializing in accounting from the University of Tennessee–Martin. Over her 30-year career, she has amassed invaluable experience in the financial sector, dedicating 25 years to serving as the Chief Financial Officer for various nonprofit organizations.
She has a special connection to the Easterseals community, having personal acquaintances with prominent supporters and being linked to the recently named Easterseals preschool in Stuttgart.
Community Involvements and Recognitions
Excited to return to her passion in the IDD field, Ferguson said her drive to serve the community was cultivated by her family’s deep-seated values in community building and philanthropy. She has shown her dedication through her roles as treasurer at the Benton/Bauxite Rotary Club and as a member of both the Saline County Women’s Lions Club and the Benton Civitan Club.
Easterseals CEO Ron Ekstrand expressed enthusiasm about the newest addition to their leadership team, stating, “We are so excited to have Stacy joining our very talented leadership team as we look forward to expanding our services across the state in advance of Governor Hutchinson’s announcement to provide funding for 3,200 people currently on the waiting list for services here in Arkansas.”
A Glimpse into Ferguson’s Personal Life
Outside of her professional commitments, Ferguson cherishes time with her family, including her sons David and Dylan, and her granddaughter, Bentley. An animal lover, she has a soft spot for rescue pets. She is also anticipating the birth of another grandchild this summer.
Aside from family, she finds joy in long-distance running, a vivid testimony to her dynamic spirit. Being a sports enthusiast, she never misses an opportunity to enjoy tailgating at the Arkansas Razorbacks football games, where her son Dylan is a college student.
As Ferguson embarks on this new chapter at ESA, her comprehensive experience and deep connection with the community signal a promising tenure ahead, fostering a future where everyone receives the support and resources they need to thrive.
