In February 2017, Jaelyn embraced a new beginning at the Easterseals Center for Training & Wellness. Nestled in the heart of Little Rock, this nurturing day program welcomes adults aged 18 and above, providing them with an enriching environment where they can foster friendships, hone new skills, and embark on a journey toward employment.
Thanks to a recommendation from her nephew Trey — a longtime beneficiary of Easterseals services — Angela found this remarkable haven for Jaelyn. It is here that Jaelyn has been blossoming, mastering the art of communication through email in the center’s computer lab and building enduring friendships.
When Angela inquired about Jaelyn’s day at the center, the heartwarming response was, “It was amazing today!”
But Jaelyn harbors ambitions beyond the computer lab. He dreams of being part of the dazzling world of television, aspiring to shadow a TV production team one day and immerse himself in the intricate dance of lights, cameras, and action that brings stories to life on the silver screen.
A Circle of Giving
Moved by the transformative impact that Easterseals has bestowed upon her son, Angela expresses a heartfelt desire to reciprocate the kindness and nurture the community that has given Jaelyn so much. She shares, “Easterseals has helped my son thrive and because of that, I want to give back by volunteering for them.”
In a beautiful cycle of giving and receiving, Angela is poised to immerse herself in many volunteering opportunities at Easterseals. This includes storytelling sessions at the center fostering joy in little hearts at the developmental preschool, and lending a hand at special events. Her journey of giving back is about to unfold, echoing the warmth and compassion that define the Easterseals community.
