Introducing Our Dynamic 2018 Representatives

2018 representatives

Meet the inspiring individuals who are the heart and soul of Easterseals Arkansas. These remarkable individuals are our 2018 representatives, and they are all set to make this year unforgettable. They embody the spirit of Easterseals as they represent us at various events, corporate partner visits, and in the media. Let’s get to know them!

Philip Henry: Our Adult Rep with a Passion for Art and Independence

Philip Henry

Philip Henry is a man of many talents. Hailing from Oklahoma, he graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 2009, leaving a trail of art awards and accolades during his time. Philip’s love for art has been nothing short of remarkable, and his artwork has even graced our Art & Soul event. Beyond his artistic prowess, Philip is a proud Oklahoma University fan who cherishes moments spent with friends and family.

But Philip’s dreams don’t stop there. He aspires to join our college program with UA Little Rock, ACCE, and secure a part-time job. His unwavering commitment to becoming more social and independent is an inspiration to us all.

Kala’Bria Guydon: Our Grand Prairie Child Development Center Rep

Kala'Bria

Kala’Bria Guydon’s journey is a testament to resilience. Born prematurely at 28 weeks, weighing just 2.4 pounds, she spent over five months in the hospital before finally coming home. Her incredible progress began at our Stuttgart preschool in 2015.

When Kala’Bria first joined Easterseals, she faced challenges that seemed insurmountable. But through dedication, physical therapy, and developmental support, she defied the odds. From being unable to sit up on her own, she quickly progressed to walking.

Today, she’s not only thriving physically but also enjoying the activities every little girl loves – dancing, singing, and playing with her baby dolls. We are proud to have her as our Grand Prairie Child Development Center representative.

Zack Gridley: Our Energetic Youth Rep

Zack

Zack Gridley, our Youth Rep, has been a part of the Easterseals family since he was a baby. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he’s always ready to take the lead in our endeavors. Zack’s most recent feat was coordinating an in-house pie-in-the-face fundraiser for Walk With Me – a delightful experience of smudging pies in the “winners'” faces.

Zack’s leadership extends beyond Easterseals; he’s an active member of the jump rope team and the Klondike Leadership Academy at school. This academy focuses on students engaging in community service and independent activities, a testament to Zack’s commitment to making a positive impact. We are honored to have Zack continue as our Youth Representative.

Griffin Smith: Our Fearless Child Rep with Cool Glasses

Griffin

Griffin Smith is a young trailblazer known for his distinctive cool glasses. Born with Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), a rare genetic disease affecting vision, Griffin’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He receives occupational, physical, and speech therapy services, which have equipped him to navigate a predominantly sighted world with resilience.

Despite the challenges he faces due to his lack of vision, Griffin embraces life to the fullest. He played a pivotal role in raising funds through his Walk With Me team, showcasing his determination and spirit. Easterseals holds a special place in Griffin’s heart, as his mother, Cary, is a therapist here. Griffin’s family says, “We feel so privileged that Griffin has been so loved and accepted here, and feel so indebted to the staff that works with him daily.”
