Sarah’s Narrative: Forging Resilience and Reaching For Her Dreams

Sarah

Sarah was born on October 3, 1988, in Blytheville, and her early life at First Baptist Daycare laid the foundation for her future. She went on to attend the Blytheville Public School District from preschool through high school, and these formative years played a crucial role in shaping her character and aspirations.

Throughout her school years, Sarah discovered a deep love for sports, particularly the Special Olympics. Events like the softball throw and the exhilarating 50-yard run became her favorites. Her dedication and skill even propelled her to the state competition during middle school, where she demonstrated her competitive spirit and determination.

Giving Back

After graduating from high school, Sarah chose to give back to the community that had nurtured her. She returned to the daycare where her journey had begun, dedicating herself to assisting and mentoring young children, fostering a sense of compassion and responsibility that would define her character.

A New Chapter at Abilities Unlimited

Sarah’s path took a significant turn when she was accepted at Abilities Unlimited in Blytheville, where she reignited her passion for the Special Olympics. For approximately 12 years, she continued to excel in the sports she loved while remaining actively engaged with her church, demonstrating her commitment to both physical and spiritual growth.

Embracing Change in North Little Rock

In 2019, Sarah and her mother made a life-altering decision to relocate to North Little Rock to be closer to family. This transition marked a new chapter in her life, bringing both challenges and opportunities.

Sarah found herself at Eastersals in 2020, where she wholeheartedly embraced the welcoming community and diverse activities offered at the Center for Training & Wellness (CTW). Her journey of self-discovery continued, and she forged meaningful friendships. Looking ahead, Sarah aspires to be a wedding planner.
