Windstream‘s enduring partnership with Easterseals Arkansas has not only involved corporate sponsorship but also the remarkable contributions of dedicated individuals. One such individual, Jeff Heacox, a member of Windstream’s Regulatory Compliance Department, was recognized for his exceptional craftsmanship at the 2017 Annual Meeting, where he left an indelible mark at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center.
Commendation from Within
George Cole, VP for Information Technology at Windstream and an Easterseals Arkansas board member expressed his excitement upon learning about Jeff’s well-deserved honor. Over the years, Jeff has consistently donated his time and expertise in numerous ways. His most notable contributions revolve around creating bespoke furniture and appliances tailored to the unique needs of Easterseals clients.
“As a fellow Windstream associate, I am extremely proud of the work that Jeff and the Regulatory team have donated to Easterseals,” George remarked. “On behalf of the Easterseals Board of Directors, I want to say that we are very thankful to all of you for everything you do to support our mission.”
A Remarkable Craftsmanship
Jeff’s responsibilities extended to the swinging gates in the CRC cafeteria. During the award presentation at the Annual Meeting, Easterseals Arkansas Volunteer & Community Coordinator Breda Turner openly admitted her astonishment at the skill and dedication required to create and install these gates.
“And that is not the only construction to his credit,” Breda revealed with admiration. “He has also made special desks and chairs for the children with autism in the Preschool. The wood he used, the finishing, and the quality of his work are truly amazing. When we discovered that some of the children could use their knees to lift up the desk, he made another one, this one with longer legs. And it was just as beautifully made and finished.”
A Valued Volunteer
In light of Jeff’s unwavering commitment, Breda playfully added, “We are truly fortunate to have Jeff around. Although he might want to keep an eye out – people might start brainstorming more projects to add to his ever-growing volunteer to-do list!”
